Welcome to Just Folks!

Some weeks ago, I participated in DearMyrtle‘s ‘Blogging for Beginners’ Webinar, and it convinced me (after much hemming and hawing over the years) that I really could start my own blog!

I procrastinated, though. I may have my picture next to that word in the dictionary, in fact.

But last week, I stumbled across the ’31 Weeks to a Better Genealogy Blog’ challenge over at Tonia’s  Roots. I was intrigued and it was the last spur to knock me into gear. So here I am, mixing my metaphors and ready to begin my own genealogy blog! I’m very excited to be taking this step, and I hope it will help me learn through better documentation and analysis of my research,  as well as possibly connecting with some new cousins down the line who stumble across this blog.

Please drop by the ‘About Me’  if you’d like to know more about me, and take a look at the ‘Family Surnames’  as well – who knows, we might be cousins! I hope you enjoy your visit!

P.S. Thanks to DearMyrtle and Tonia both for inspiring me to take the plunge! :)

  1. Hi there – just thought I’d say “Hi”. Just started my own Genealogy blog mostly centered on Scottish Ancestry and the research I undertake through my Genealogy business Perthshire Ancestry. I seem to have come to Genealogist status through very much the same lines as yourself and am always looking to my next qualification – hehe. So far, Understanding Secretary hand and 16th Century documents – who knows what next! Pop over and see what you think :-)
